About This Election
The Cumberland County Board of Education is made up of nine elected members. Three of the members are elected at-large and represent the entire county. Six members are elected from smaller districts within the county. A map of the districts can be found here. This dual representation system is common and allows for greater representation for everyone. Each voter has the opportunity to elect four board members instead of just one. The district elections are aligned with the Presidential election cycle. The at-large seats are up for election this year (2022) and this stagger allows for continuity on the board without all the seats being up for re-election in the same year. We serve four year terms.
Since the races are non-partisan, there is no primary and the top three vote recipients are elected to the board. I appreciate your vote and support!
